" Dear Fenech family,
I am very sad to learn of Frank's recent passing.
It was by pure chance that I met him last year, in June, while staying in Rochefort to see my brother Jorge, his neighbor down the hallway.
In just a few conversations with Frank, I found him to be one of the most interesting people I have ever met and spoken to. And he was also very kind, always positive.
Frank told me he was born in Brooklyn and I live in New York city; So we started speaking in English, the language of his youth. He had so many memories and stories to share. Like him I have a deep interest in history and he was years ahead of me in that field. I could always find him reading good book by the window.
I feel blessed to have known him, even for a short time. He once told me that he had already lived a full life and that the time he had left was a gift. He was enjoying it.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
I will not fail to visit his final resting place when I return to Rochefort later this year, to show my respect and express my gratitude.
